A thrilling victory at St. Mary’s on Sunday sees Southampton claw their way out of the bottom three and into safety, for now.

Danny Ings, got the game off to a great start for the home side by heading home a cross delivered by teammate Matt Targett in the 20th minute. After that, the Saints saw their lead disappear on two different occasions due to a pair of Mkhitaryan goals until going ahead for good thanks do a third headed goal by Charlie Austin in the 85th minute of the game.

It has not even been two full weeks since Hasenhuttl has taken charge of the club but his impact is already being felt. The players look sharper and more motivated and the overall mood around the club is just much more positive.
