Southampton: Rating the impact of Saints’ five summer signings

Southampton attempted to sort their squad in the summer with five notable signings.

Jannik Vestergaard came in to fill a defensive gap, Stuart Armstrong was bought to provide midfield creativity and Angus Gunn gave competition in the Goalkeeping department.

Along with these, Mohamed Elyounoussi came in to give trickery and creativity on the wing, whilst Danny Ings arrived from Liverpool to bring much-needed goals.

It has proven to be a mixed start to life on the South Coast for them after the summer spree of around £56m.

Saints find themselves near the bottom of the Premier League table again and there has also been a managerial change for the new group to contend with.
