Southampton record their first back to back Premier League wins since 2017, as they down Huddersfield 3-1.

If you’re a Saints fan and are feeling a bit lightheaded while reading this, it’s probably because you’ve seen that Southampton have reached the heady heights of 16th in the top-flight.

To add to supporters’ woozy dreamlike disposition the team’s performance against Huddersfield even resembled something for which a supporter might reasonably be expected to pay money, for the second consecutive week.

First goals for Nathan Redmond and Michael Obafemi, coupled with a Danny Ings’ penalty was enough to claim all three points. The second straight win has given plenty to be cheerful about this festive season and hopefully beyond.

Here are the three key takeaways from Southampton’s 3-1 victory over Huddersfield Town.
