Angus Gunn

It would be wrong of me not to include the debutant keeper among the three key players for the Saints. He kept a clean sheet whilst making six saves throughout the match but his performance was so much more than the shots he stopped.

His positioning was impeccable and his sense of when to get off his line and get to a ball was something I have not seen out of a Saints’ keeper, even McCarthy. All Evening, he was able to cut down angles and make himself big in front of the opposition so their only option was to drill it directly at him.

The future is amazingly bright for the young Englishman and it will be a treat to watch him develop into the keeper he has been hyped up to be.
