Maya Yoshida

The Japanese defender had himself a day. Yoshida may have played his best match on Thursday, which is a shame because he now departs the team for the better part of the month due to international duties for his home country.

But, at Stamford Bridge he shined in his moment. He tallied 11 clearances in all, 8 interceptions, and one brilliant tackle on N’Golo Kante who looked to be through on goal and would have surely scored. Yoshida has always endeared himself to Saint fans because of the passion he played with and his love for the club. He has not always shone he is the most capable player but none of that matter last night because that was a performance to remember.
