Rangers reunion with Davis all but confirmed

After consistent rumours of a return to Ibrox, it appears that Steven Davis will be rejoining his former club very soon.

According to a report from the Scottish Sun, the 34-year-old has agreed on an 18-month deal to join Steven Gerrard’s side and will be taking a significant wage cut to move to Scotland.

In the twilight of his career, this move can be seen as perfect for all parties involved. Ranger get a player still capable at a high level, Saints trim the fringes of their squad and Davis moves back to a club he knows well – potentially to finish his career.

The Northern Ireland captain joined Saints for a fee of £800k back in 2012 and his subsequent 226 appearances have made that fee a bargain based on the service he has given the club.
