January 19th, Southampton vs. Everton

Everton, like Leicester, collected a 2-1 win against the Saints early in the season. They currently sit 11th on the table with 27 points but have lost 4 of their last 5.

At this point in time, the Toffees are a bit of a mystery. They lost to Tottenham at home 2-6 only to turn around and beat Burnley away 1-5. They are certainly capable of scoring goals but also conceding just as much.

As for the match against Southampton, I expect it to play a lot like the first match. A lot of back-and-forth and overall an even match-up. Just this time, the Saints will have a little more confidence in themselves and will hopefully be able to convert more of their chances. Also, it will be Pierre-Emili Hojbjerg’s first match back from suspension and he will look to make-up for lost time.

With Southampton’s defensive woes it is unlikely they will keep a clean sheet against a team like Everton, so I expect this to be a high scoring draw.

Prediction

Southampton 2-2 Everton

Goal Scorers: Nathan Redmond, Pierre-Emili Hojbjerg
