Ollie Watkins – Forward, Brentford

Attackers will also be high on the Saints list too after the sale of Manolo Gabbiadini to Sampdoria recently.

The same report from skysports.com that links Mepham has 23-year-old forward Ollie Watkins as a target for the club.

His ability to play across the frontline will be attractive to Saints with a lack of options currently at St Mary’s. He contributes well – largely from the left-wing – and has seven goals and four assists so far this season.

Watkins’ overall scoring record in the Football League has seen him contribute to 70 goals in 150 appearances for both Exeter City and Brentford. This included 16 goals and 13 assists to help Exeter to the League Two play-offs.
