Nathan Redmond’s golden streak continues

Although it is fair to say that Redmond has not always played to his true potential since his arrival at Southampton in the summer of 2016, there is no denying the upturn in form since Hasenhuttl took the reins. With six goals in his last ten appearances, Redmond has added goals to his game along with an increasing maturity and a ruthless streak.

It is important that Southampton seek to tie the England international on a new deal as one senses that Redmond could be crucial to the Hasenhuttl transformation at the club. His pace, trickery and confidence is consistently causing opposition defenders problems and if he continues to develop his finishing, it seems inevitable that the top six vultures will start circling.

Redmond was superb at Turf Moor and it cannot be long before he adds to his solitary international cap. With the Nations League finals looming on the horizon, Redmond will be disappointed if he does not make the plane to Portugal this summer.
