A Timely Trip to Tenerife

Despite, having no FA cup business to attend to this weekend, Hasenhüttl’s men won’t be taking it off. Instead, they are headed off to the sunny Tenerife.

Rest assured this won’t be a holiday, but rather a chance for warm weather training and tactical discussion. As the previous match day has shown, there is still plenty of work to be done.

Defensive errors still must be cut out and more creativity found. In a short period of time the so-called, Klopp of the Alps has already made great strides with the people at his disposal.

Quoted on the Daily Echo website, the manager reveals that there is still plenty of work to be done. “we can show every player what he’s done well till now and what’s not so good. That will take a lot of time, but it will be perfect there because we can work very hard..”

The 51-year-old continues: “We will have a lot of time in better conditions on the pitch. Warm weather helps a lot to train technical things because you have to stand a bit longer on the pitch and you are not afraid someone will catch a cold.”

Southampton’s exit from the FA cup was a disaster, but the extra time to develop as a squad could yet prove the difference.
