Training camp could pay off big time for Saints

Saints had shown some promising form but just two points from three games against Crystal Palace, Burnley and Cardiff City have knocked them back a bit.

A period of intense training with added focus on specific roles within the team is, therefore, exactly what they needed.

Defining the shape of the defence was important after just one clean sheet under Hasenhuttl so far, whilst improving potency in attack could help them to get the clear leads that they need to win some of their remaining games.

The effect of this training in Tenerife remains to be seen but there is certainly a good chance of it paying off for Saints’ survival hopes this year.
