Nathan Redmond

Not his finest day at the office, Redmond’s early miss had a significant impact on the match as Arsenal produced a blitzkrieg counter attack and scored their first. Redmond has been outstanding this season but without another striker in the team, he looks devoid of ideas.

The burden of being Southampton’s goal threat is placing unnecessary responsibility on Redmond and the sooner Ings can return to first team duties, the better. There was no lack of endeavour from Redmond but there needs to be a return of that ruthless streak which was present around the Xmas period.

With a six pointer looming against Fulham, it is imperative Redmond can get back to his best as soon as possible.
