Josh Sims

It would be very difficult to find a Southampton fan that would have left Josh Sims out of this article.  From the moment he was put into the game, he was electric with his energy, causing plenty of problems for the Spurs’ defence.  Ralph Hasenhuttl surely took notice as well, as Southampton FC’s official site posted the comments from the manager below.

“I was very happy with Josh’s performance,” the Saints boss added. “It was exactly what I wanted to see from him. He is always attacking and has good solutions on the ball, making very few mistakes in possession. He was really aggressive and has speed so he can really hurt defences.”

After this performance, one can legitimately question why this was his first senior appearance under Hasenhuttl?  However, with Shane Long going off injured, and Charlie Austin’s effectiveness within the system in serious doubt, Saints’ fans need to be excited about seeing Sims play a little more often over the final eight matches.
