Southampton: How are Hoedt and Clasie doing out on loan?
Continuing our loan watch we move to Jordan Clasie and Wesley Hoedt and check-in on how their time away from the club is going.
Jordy Claise was sent out on loan to Feyenoord at the start of the season and Wesley Hoedt was sent out over the January window. Since their moves they have been playing regular football for their respective clubs.
Even though it looks like their futures at Southampton are bleak it is still worth it to take a look at how they are performing.
Wesley Hoedt
Since joining Celta Vigo in January the Dutch defender has made 5 appearances and has totaled 447 minutes in the process. Notably, in his first appearance for the club Hoedt was sent off with two yellow cards and was suspended the next match.
His numbers defensively are about the same as they were for Saints. He is averaging 2.2 tackles per match to go along with 1.2 interceptions and 6 clearances.
In the matches he has played Celta Vigo have lost 4 and drawn 1 and currently sit 18th on the table in La Liga.
Jordy Clasie
Clasie, who struggled to get regular appearances for the Saints is a regular for the Dutch side, Feyenoord.
Thus far, he has collected 2054 mins for the club over 24 appearances and has an average match rating of 7.09. It is fair to say he has been enjoying his time in Holland.
The Dutchman has 4 assists on the season to go along with a goal while playing primarily in a holding midfield position. He has an astonishing 88.4% pass success rate and has 5.2 long balls per match. He is very solid defensively as well averaging 2.6 tackles per match and 1.9 interceptions.
Clasie, is an integral part of the Feyenoord team this season and would appear he is happy to stay there.
Feyenoord are currently 3rd in the Eredivisie.
