Southampton: Three previous Saints league wins against Brighton

Brighton 0-2 Saints – Championship, 8th April 2006

Saints’ first season back in the second-tier saw them finish 12th following their relegation from the Premier League.

Five wins from their last six games of the campaign included this one at the at the Withdean Stadium.

Striker Ricardo Fuller opened the scoring in the 37th minute Richard Chaplow – in his first spell with the club – added a second midway through the second-half.

The following season would see Saints produce an even better season and finish in the play-offs before narrowly losing in the semi-final to Derby.
