Yan Valery Impresses against Top Opposition

The team may have lost, but there was still plenty of good individual performances to take note of. Yan Valery had one such showing.

The young Academy product used his pace to good effect down the right. During the first half, the Frenchman linked up well with his colleagues, but was also willing to put in challenges and fight for the football.

Southampton looked bright for much of the match and the 20-year-old was a big reason for that. Not only did Valery win several of his own battles, but was also ready to propel moves forward as others retrieved the ball for him.
