Striker and Substitutes

Danny Ings, Striker – 7

Nothing in terms of chances for him but a very clever assist to set up Redmond’s second goal. Another well weighted ball through for Sims who should have scored.

Shane Long, 1st Substitute – 7

Ings had done quietly well, but Long made a real impact when he came on and deserved his goal. Got Saints out of danger by winning free-kicks in final stages.

Oriol Romeu, 2nd Substitute – 6

On for Sims in a defensive move to help see out the game. Not involved too much in his 30 minutes on the field.

Jack Stephens, 3rd Substitute – N/A

On in place of Valery who had picked up a slight knock in the latter stages.
