Along with Hoedt, Cedric was also pushed out by Hasenhuttl in January in preparation for the rest of the season.

Despite not having a senior Right-Back after the Portuguese international joined Inter Milan temporarily, the Saints boss put his faith in youth and promoted Yan Valery to fill in.

Valery has excelled so far and would certainly be first-choice even if Cedric returned to the club.

For this reason, it could be time for the 27-year-old to depart for pastures new.
