Ings played just 61 minutes of Saints’ 3-1 win over Wolves but his clever performance went very much under the radar.
Despite having a reputation as a goal poacher in the area, he dropped deeper and created chances for both Nathan Redmond and Josh Sims.
One reverse pass saw him set up Redmond’s second goal of the afternoon and show a side to his game not often seen by fans.
Injuries have halted his first season with Saints at times but he sits second in their Fantasy Premier League points scorers with 80 to date.
