Forwards and Substitutes

Nathan Redmond, Attacking-Midfield – 7.5

Involved in most things that Saints did going forward and hit the post when rounding Foster. Also forced a good tip wide from the keeper in the first-half.

Stuart Armstrong, Attacking-Midfield – 5.5

Rewarded for a great impact off the bench on Saturday with a start here but not able to affect the game nearly as much tonight.

Shane Long, Striker – 7

A goal typical of his style in attack and the fastest goal in Premier League history! He closed down Cathcart superbly and produced a fantastic finish to lift the ball over Foster.

With three goals in four appearances, perhaps this is the start of an upturn for him with Saints.

Josh Sims, 1st Substitute – 5.5

A great option for Saints to have but touched the ball just nine times after coming on in the 67th minute.

Mario Lemina, 2nd Substitute – 5.5

Not able to have as much of an impact off the bench as he did on Saturday.

Yan Valery, 3rd Substitute – 6

On as a late substitute and produced one great run forward with the ball. May return to starting line-up against Bournemouth.
