Bournemouth 1-3 Saints, Premier League, 2016/17

The final match of a spell of four games in 10 days for Claude Puel’s Saints side saw them produce some fine finishing to win.

A draw with Hapoel Beer Sheva in the Europa League, a win against Middlesbrough and a goalless draw at Stoke was a tough schedule but didn’t seem to affect Saints here.

Nathan Ake had put Bournemouth in front, but a powerful finish across goal saw Ryan Bertrand level the scores.

Two second-half strikes from Jay Rodriguez would make it 3-1 in favour of the visitors – the first a bundle home from close-range, but the second a beautiful, dipping volley from just outside the area.

Saints team: Forster, Cedric, Yoshida, van-Dijk, Bertrand, Clasie, Reed (Davis), Boufal (Tadic), Redmond, Hojbjerg, Rodriguez (Long)
