Midfielders

Oriol Romeu, Central-Midfield – 5.0

Never lacking in effort but he got his customary yellow card and was unceremoniously hauled off at half time by the manager. Has been a key part in staying up but failed to give the level of shielding required to a fragile defence. Will be worried for his place when Lemina returns fully.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Central-Midfield – 6.0

Decent but unspectacular performance from the skipper. Can make the impossible look easy and the easy look laboured. Commitment has been outstanding this season and must stay over the summer.

James Ward-Prowse, Central-Midfield – 7.5

Great goal taken on his unfavoured left foot. Worked tirelessly in front of the watching Gareth Southgate. Almost unrecognisable from the timid midfielder who started the season.
