Southampton fell to a poor 3-0 loss away at West Ham on Saturday as fringe players struggled to make an impact.

Each of Fraser Forster, Mohamed Elyounoussi, Stuart Armstrong and Mario Lemina were given a start but couldn’t produce anything of note to prove their worth.

It was perhaps telling that the visitors’ only shot on target of the game came courtesy of Nathan Redmond, who came on as a second-half substitute.

With one final game against relegated Huddersfield Town left, Ralph Hasenhuttl is likely to go back to a full strength side to get a home win in front of the Saints fans.

After the season ends, the summer transfer window will become the club’s main focus. Players are expected to leave and arrive in what cold be a busy spell.
