The Mali international has been linked with a move from the Belgian League to Southampton for around £20m according to LeSoir.be

The youngster is currently apart of the club, Standard Liege who are currently third in the Belgian League this year. He has scored 11 goals in 37 appearances for the club.

He is a young and raw talent which is exactly the type of player Hasenhuttl is aiming to bring into the club so that is not surprising but the price tag has raised some eyebrows from supporters.

This is all apart of Ralph wanting to return to the “Southampton Way” but is it worth spending that much money on an unproven player? Some would argue no while I am sure others would argue yes but what it comes down to is if this player can be developed into the sort of player Hasenhuttl envisions.

On the surface, everything appears to be there to make Djenepo a fantastic player. He is young, has pace and knows how to find the back of the net. All things the new Manager has said he is looking to bring into the club.

If the talent is there the next question will be is he coach able or not? Is he willing to be pushed physically and mentally under Hasenhuttl and will he listen to when his manager speaks and tells him what is expected of him?

This summer is one of the most crucial summers the club has had in recent times. With the players brought in and the ones who remain, they will create the foundation of what Hasenhuttl wants for the club and could determine the long term success we have in the Premier League.

If Hasenhuttl is given the money, I trust him to spend it properly and I believe he will bring in the right players with the right attitudes who are willing to give it their all for the club.
