The Celtic midfielder was a part of the club’s 8th straight title in the Scottish Premiership and has been linked with multiple clubs including Southampton.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the Saints have been tracking the 26-year-old Rogic for the past two season now and are considering on finally making a bid for the midfielder.

Rogic, would be yet another purchase from the Scottish side (joining the likes of Wanyama, Van DIjk, and Armstrong) but the Saints will face competition from another Premier League club. The competition will come in the form of Leicester as Brendan Rodgers will look for a reunion with his former player.

The transfer fee for the midfielder will likely pull a record fee for an Australian born player. The Herald is reporting the bid could range from $18m to $37m (Australian Dollars) or £9.6m to £20m.

I would be hesitant to pay £20m for a midfielder from the Scottish Premiership but would be more than happy if we were able to snag him on the lower-end of the range stated earlier.

I am anticipating the Board will allow Hasenhuttl to splash some cash this summer and build the team he wants I just hope the money is spent effectively and wisely.

It is fair to say every time we go to the Celtic well, the players have panned out and been success for us. So, I would be willing to take a flyer on the Socceroo star and watch how he develops and fits into the Southampton tactics and playing style next season.
