Pitch Invader

The summer transfer window just around the corner, the search for new recruits is hotting up. St Mary’s unexpectedly welcomed a potential ‘recruit’.

With the game on the verge of stoppage time, an ambitious patron saw his chance to make an impression on Ralph Hasenhüttl. Despite, lacking a conventional sportsman’s physique, the gentleman showed good positional awareness enabling him to, sneak out of the crowd, past several unsuspecting stewards, and on to the pitch.

The impromptu audition didn’t stop there though. The would be Raheem Sterling, then charged towards the Chapel and into the gaping net.

Unfortunately, for the exhibitionist someone forgot to remind him that firstly, you can’t score without the ball and secondly, pitch invaders are ineligible for selection.

Yes, it’s a pedantic regulation, but rules are rules. Ever appreciative of the new star’s extraordinary gifts the Huddersfield faithful serenaded the chaps exit with the following Bard worthy poetry: “He’s one of your own, he’s one of your own, that fat ******* he’s one of your own.

A truly magnificent way to bring the curtain down on another Premier League season.
