Southampton’s season has finished and 3 teams have been relegated and now the sharks begin to circle them and start picking off their top talent .

According to multiple reports, Southampton have been linked to Hudderfield’s, Aaron Mooy, who finished as the team’s top rated player. The deal will ultimately come down to price and the Terriers have apparently slapped a £15m price tag on the 28-year-old Australian.

According to WhoScored.com, Mooy collected 3 goals and 1 assist on the season over 25 appearances. These are not eye-popping numbers but they have to be taken with a grain of salt because of the team’s overall poor performance on the season. The Terriers only scored 22 goals all season.

Aaron Mooy, is a good player and would be a solid piece of any team but for me he does not necessarily fit what I thought Hasenhuttl was looking for in a player this summer.

He is not a youngster who possess a lot of pace and just plays in the middle of the park. To me, we already have enough players at that position and I do not particularly see a place for him in the team.

With that said, I do not run a football club and that probably for a good reason. I have enough faith in Ralph to purchase the players he wants and build a winning football team. If he thinks Mooy fits his vision than I am all for it.

Also, if we are purchasing another central midfielder that leads me to believe one or more will be sold in the summer. Once the transfer windows open it is going to be a whirlwind of activity especially for the Saints and it is only getting started.
