A report form TuttoMercatoWeb.com has come out saying Southampton are close to bringing in Moussa Djenepo from Standard Liege.

The move for the 20-year-old is rumored to be around £19.4m and if this is any indication of how the transfer window is going to go, Hasenhuttl is going to waste no time bringing in the players he wants so they can get up to speed with his tactics.

Djenepo, scored 8 goals this season for the Belgian side primarily featuring on the left side of the pitch.

With Hasenhuttl wanting to play Redmond more in a traditional striker role this coming season there will be a need for a player who can play on the left with pace.

The Mali international has loads of potential and if he develops into the player people think he can be he is going to be trouble for the rest of the league.

Any time a player goes from a smaller league (like the Belgian league) there is going to be an adjustment period, especially for a 20-year-old kid. But, that is where the manager and coaching staff come in and I believe we have just the guys in charge to get him up to speed and develop him properly so he will be ready to go when the time comes.

Hasenhuttl, has made it clear he wants youth so he can develop them into the type of players he needs for his system. Djenepo may be a bit of an unknown quantity but we have to take risks sometimes or we will keep ending up at the bottom of the table.

Hopefully, this is an early sign Mr. Gao is willing to spend money to improve the team and protect his investment. But, only time will tell and until pen hits paper all we can do is speculate.
