Liverpool 2-1 Saints, 2014/15 season

It had been a turbulent summer for Saints after the departure of a number of players and manager Mauricio Pochettino.

However, Ronald Koeman came in to steady the ship and played new signings Ryan Bertrand, Fraser Forster, Dusan Tadic and Graziano Pelle from the off here.

Saints fell behind after 23 minutes following Raheem Sterling’s opener for the hosts, but a fierce effort from Nathaniel Clyne flew in to level the scores after half-time.

However, Reds striker Daniel Sturridge claimed the winner 10 minutes from time to start Koeman’s reign off with a defeat.

This loss at Anfield was followed by just one loss from 14 games in all competitions though.
