Saints 0-0 Swansea City, 2017/18 season

A drab spell under Mauricio Pellegrino began with Saints putting in a lot of effort for little reward in this opening day clash.

60% of possession, 13 corners, 16 shots of target and just two on target produced no goals for the hosts.

On this evidence, it was probably not a surprise that both sides were fighting for survival come the end of the season.

That night back at the Liberty and Gabbiadini’s winner won’t be forgotten in a long time.

Saints team: Forster, Cedric, Yoshida, Stephens, Bertrand (McQueen 86), Davis, Romeu, Ward-Prowse (Boufal 71), Redmond, Tadic, Gabbiadini (Austin 69)
