Southampton: Five wingers who have been linked to Saints this summer

Sky Sports reported at the end of May that Saints were long-term admirers of Brentford forward Watkins.

However, fellow top-flight clubs in Sheffield United and Crystal Palace were also mentioned as suitors for the 23-year-old.

Watkins was a key man for the Bees in 2018/19 after netting 12 goals and providing nine assists in 45 games in all competitions.

Having already signed Moussa Djenepo to fill a wing position, it remains to be seen whether Saints feel they need to pursue Watkins too.
