The talented midfielder and striker both look as though they will be leaving Southampton soon for fresh starts. Here is the most recent news.

We will start with Sam Gallagher. The 23-year-old has been linked with a number of lower league sides including the likes of Wigan and Blackburn.

But recently it has seemed Wigan are no longer in the running for the striker as the fee and his wages are a little too high for the clubs liking. So, that leaves Blackburn who look as though they are ready to pounce on the goal scorer and bring him in permanently to the club in the coming weeks.

The fee is likely to be around the £5m mark for the Scottish national.

The bigger news to come out today is the Lemina transfer saga seems to be picking up some steam as a number of Premier League clubs are now linked with the very talented midfielder. The strongest link seems to be with Manchester United as the club has reportedly been given permission to hold talks with the Gabonese international.

The move for United would make sense as it is likely they will be losing Paul Pogba soon and Lemina could be seen as a replacement for a much cheaper price. And for Lemina, getting a chance to play for United, would no doubt excite the 25-year-old to play a massive club that routinely gets to either Europa or Champions League each season.

Southampton are reportedly looking for a fee anywhere from £18m-£25m which would be pocket change for a club like Manchester United.

If an offer is extended within that range, I think it would be foolish for the club not to accpet and let Lemina move on. It would be a rare occasion that all parties leave the transaction happy and could help fund important moves for the Saints later in the window.
