Southampton: Three things we might notice from Hasenhuttl’s 4-2-2-2 in 2019/20

With just a month to go until the Premier League starts again for Southampton, Saints fans can really start to get excited.

Some impressive displays in the second half of the 2018/19 season saw Ralph Hasenhuttl making his mark on his side and perhaps providing a look to the future.

There will still be a lot of work to do for the Austrian to fully implement his strategies at St Mary’s, but this pre-season will be an ideal time to do that.

Saints fans will hope that the result is a more comfortable top-flight finish than the 17th and 16th of the last two seasons.

Hasenhuttl preferred the use of the 4-2-2-2 system when at RB Leipzig and it produced impressive results, so that could be what he goes to for this upcoming campaign.
