A report from a Portuguese site has linked the right-back to clubs such as PSG, Monaco, and Arsenal as Cedric is likely living Southampton this summer.

Cedric is currently with the team in Austria for some pre-season training but it looks like he will still be sold at some point this summer.  A number of notable clubs have now been linked to the defender that spent the second half of the last season in Italy.

This is the last year on the Portuguese defender’s contract so the club is definitely looking to make some money before he will be able to leave for free at the end of next season.

With Yan Valery being the clear choice for starting RB this coming season there is really no reason for Cedric to stay at the club. He has given us good years but that time has come to an end. He will still add defensive depth to any team he joins as he is a very experienced defender.

I do not expect the asking price would be too high for Cedric as he is a bit older at this point but whatever the club can get they will take. I do not see Arsenal having too much interest in Cedric but they do have a need for defending. My guess would be Monaco is the most likely suitor as they are looking to regroup and rebuild after a hugely disappointing season last year.

With less than a month until the new season starts it is time for the club to start getting down to business and getting rid of the players that do not have a place at the club. I would have to think the club is looking to purchase at least one more player this window and will need to sell a few guys to be able to finance that move
