A First Chance to Impress for Che Adams

After scoring 22 goals in 46 appearances last season, it’s fair to say that Che Adams impressed during his time at Birmingham city.

Even a cursory examination of some of the players previous goals for the blues shows him to be a well-rounded athlete. During his time at the championship side the 22-year-old, showed a good burst of pace, and the ability to hold off the opposing defenders, as well as the occasional turn of skill.

In their extensive review of the front man website footballbh.net said:

“The former Birmingham City player is capable of leading the line on his own, or linking with a strike partner. At 22 years old, he still has many years to develop before he hits his peak.”.

Despite a promising makeup, this does not necessarily mean that success is a given. Top-flight defenders are as a rule, faster and sharper than their championship counterparts. The attacker is unlikely to get as much time or space as in the past.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes the young marksman to acclimatise to a more challenging environment. Game time against reasonable opponents is the first step towards adapting to his new club’s setup, whilst hopefully discovering the all-important chemistry with his teammates.

This friendly won’t determine whether Adams is worthy to be a Premier League finisher, but it may still hold the shoots of promise.
