Everton are the latest club to be linked to the Southampton midfielder. With the end of the transfer window quickly closing will the Saints get a deal done?

Everton recently sold midfielder Idrissa Gueye to PSG and are actively looking for a replacement for the Senegalese international. On the shortlist of replacements is Southampton’s very own, Mario Lemina.

The Gabonese international has made is abundantly clear that he is looking for a move away from the South Coast and with the Manchester United links cooling down it looks like Everton may be his best chance to leave the club and allow Southampton to get a good bit of money back for the player.

The Mario Lemina Summer Saga seems to take a new turn every day. Whether it be posting a highlight film of himself or wishing his haters a bad day on Instagram, Mario Lemina is making sure he will not be missed when he is gone.

Once Lemina, and a few others a hopefully off-loaded, Southampton will then be able to turn their focus on finally bringing in another centre-back.

The season is right around the corner now and the team is going to have to start making moves if they want to do any more business this window. If they fail to move some of the players they have planned on selling they will just be eating weekly wages without contributing to the team’s success this season.

The club will play one more pre-season match before the season begins and then it is off to the Turf Moor to take Burnley on in the first match of the season. Hopefully the squad will be trimmed down a bit before they make the trip.
