Q2) With the transfer deadline upcoming, who would be the ideal deadline day signing that Saints could make and why? Which players would like to see leave the club too?

Ideal signing for me would be someone like Lewis Dunk or Fiyako Timori. With regards to leaving the club, it is probably best that Austin, Carrillo, Lemina, Forster, Stephens and Hoedt end their respective times here. Austin has made it clear he is not happy at the club, although some of the stick he has received on social media has been pathetic and unwarranted.

Carrillo by all accounts has acted professionally – whilst he offers something different, it doesn’t look like he fits the gaffer’s plans. With regards to Lemina, I was keen for him to stay but it is evident that he does not want a prolonged stay on the South Coast. It seems a shame as there is undoubtedly talent there which could be harnessed but sadly the attitude and application does not match this.

With regards to the other three, I am not sure they are capable of the levels and intensity expected from Hasenhuttl but I would love to be proved wrong. Hoedt did show glimpses of a decent player when first arrived but needs to learn to be quicker on the ball and be willing to boot the ball into row z on occasions.
