Q3) We have already seen Che Adams and Moussa Djenepo arrive, whilst Danny Ings was signed permanently. Matt Targett, Sam Gallagher and Jordy Clasie have also departed. How do you rate this business out of 10 and why?

So far I would rate Saints a seven out of ten, Che Adams looks to be a real steal at the price of £15M whilst to give an opinion on Moussa Djenepo would be way too soon as he’s not featured much in pre-season.

Not much could have been done about the price of Danny Ings at £20M, as much as he is a Southampton lad and good character within the squad; he’s easily not worth that much, even in a market that is over inflated due to his injury record.

Selling Matt Targett for £17M to Aston Villa was great work carried out by the club, especially with Jake Vokins ready to become Ryan Bertrand’s understudy; as well finally relieving Jordy Clasie and Sam Gallagher off their high paid contracts at the club will pan out for funding a potential signing.

Also the return of Sofiane Boufal and Cedric Soares from their loan spells seems to have rejuvenated their desire to play for Southampton, especially the former who we all know has the quality to become a potential game changer.
