Footballinsider247.com has reported Southampton contacted the London club about bringing in Kyle Walker-Peters in on loan this season.

A peculiar link, as Walker-Peters is naturally a Right-back, because Saints seem set with Yan Valery being the right-back moving forward but this move could hint at a possible late exit for Cedric this transfer window.

The highly rated youngster looked set to feature prominently for the Spurs this season but now Pochettino is going to have to make up his mind on Walker-Peters future in the club probably sooner than he would like.

If Saints do acquire the Englishman’s services this season, that leaves them an in interesting position moving forward at the right-back position.

Quite frankly, I believed it was Yan Valery’s position moving forward and would have only expected a move for another right-sided defender if Cedric left the club. But, Cedric is still with the club and does not appear to he will be necessarily leaving.

So, what would that mean if Walker-Peters is brought-in on loan? I certainly do not think Tottenham would be loaning out one of their exciting young players to a squad if they were not ensured he would be playing first-team football.

So, keeping that in-mind, it would likely mean Walker-Peters would be brought in to start for the club on the right. What that means for Yan Valery? I guess we will have to wait and see what Hasenhuttl has in mind.

I would find it hard to believe Hasenhuttl would be willing to bring in another right-back if he did not have a plan for Yan Valery moving forward.
