Southampton announced today on the club site that star Nathan Redmond signed a new contract that will see him on the club through the 22/23 season.

If any player has earned a new contract it has been Nathan Redmond. Easily the player of the season last campaign and his hard work and persistency has paid off with a new contract.

“I feel like we can build something special,” Redmond said today and I think that is how a lot of supporters are feeling at the moment. This transfer window has not been the most exciting for Southampton but it has been productive.

This is a big season for the club and it is going to take a lot of hard work to prove to everyone that Southampton will not be a club that goes out with a whimper and are actually here to stay and compete for a long time.

Nathan Redmond will play an integral part to the club’s success this summer and he is ready for the responsibility and to take the next step in his game.

“I’m really happy to have signed, and I’m just wanting to get the season up and going now,” Redmond also stated after signing his new deal.

After the past two seasons and some dismal managers, this upcoming season will feel like a breath of fresh air for the Englishman and now that he has a few new attacking threats around him I have to believe the pitch will open up even more for the attacker and he is really going to enjoy himself out there.
