Burnley vs Southampton: Prem League – Opposition Threats

Southampton kick off their much anticipated Premier League campaign at Turf Moor this Saturday against Burnley.

Both clubs have had time to strengthen their squads over the summer period, in an attempt to compete for a top-half finish; Southampton and Burnley have both done this feat a handful of times over the past five seasons and have also qualified for Europa League Football in the same statement.

Therefore Ralph Hassenhuttl’s men will come up against a worthy opposition away from home on their first Premier League outing. Burnley’s physical line-up and tactics could cause Southampton a real headache, and in particular some of their newer additions.

Going into detail, we will highlight three opposition players that Southampton fans should be aware of ahead this weekend’s game; possible head-to-head battles across the pitch, and what strengths this Burnley side have.
