With this, the former-Derby player has featured heavily in all three of said campaigns, averaging between 32-34 games.

Hendrick who is a very physical midfielder, an aerial threat and attacking midfielder will most likely battle it out with Southampton’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Oriol Romeu, formation and line-up depending.

Giving Burnley’s man will be playing in an advanced position, Oriol Romeu will be the best option to try and keep provide Southampton’s backline some protection. The Spaniard is the most natural  central defensive-midfielder, and will easily match Hendrick’s physicality, and most notably make his opposition counterpart know of his presence early doors.

Hojbjerg will help match Burnley in midfield, with their other central midfielder likely to be former-Saints player Jack Cork; and therefore help keep the possession of the ball and therefore cut off passing lanes to Jay Rodriguez from the middle of the pitch.
