Bruce Grobbelaar

An eccentric goalkeeper who was prone to a blunder, Grobbelaar rose to fame with 440 appearances for Liverpool in the 1980s and 1990s.

In that time, the Zimbabwe international won six league titles, three FA Cups and three League Cups.

He then joined Saints in 1994 at the age of 36 and went on to make 32 appearances in two seasons at the Dell.

Grobbelaar is perhaps best remembered for his ‘wobbly knees’ antics in the 1984 European Cup final to put Roma’s penalty takers off.
