Peter Crouch

Perhaps more recognisable to modern-day football fans than the other players in this list, but less obvious than the likes of Lambert, Lovren, Lallana etc.

The 6ft 7in striker joined Saints back in 2004 for around £2.7m from Aston Villa and became a vital source of goals for a struggling side at St Mary’s.

In just one season there, he netted 15 goals in 30 appearances but joined Liverpool when Saints were relegated the following summer.

At Anfield, he played 135 times and scored 42 goals, even appearing in the 2007 Champions League final that the Reds lost to AC Milan.
