Saints allow Mane space and get punished

Saints had enjoyed a good first-half and had chances of their own that they perhaps should have taken.

Maya Yoshida forced a good save from Adrian and Che Adams headed over from a good position as Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side looked closest to breaking the deadlock.

However, they were punished for not finding the net by their former player Sadio Mane in stoppage-time at the end of the first period.

Saints players allowed the Senegal international time and space to shift the ball onto his right foot, and his resulting shot flew past Angus Gunn into the far corner.
