Huge chance missed by Ings in stoppage-time

Saints sensed a comeback from 2-0 down when Ings got a goal back with seven minutes remaining.

He closed down visiting goalkeeper Adrian and saw the ball cannon back off his legs and into the net when the Spaniard attempted a pass out.

Then – in the dying moments of the game – the former Liverpool man was given a glorious opening to level the scores.

Yan Valery curled a low cross across goal to the waiting striker, but Ings could only flick the ball past the far post.
