Andone sent off early on

Up until 30 minutes into the match, it was perhaps Brighton who were pressing most to get an opening goal.

However, home striker Florin Andone would cost his side with an ugly first-half tackle on Yan Valery.

The two players went for a loose ball in a 50/50 challenge, Andone’s follow-through saw his studs connect high up on Valery’s right leg.

It may not have been intentional or typical of the Brighton man, but it gave Kevin Friend no choice but to send him off with a straight red card.
