Fulham 0-1 Southampton: Carabao Cup – Player Ratings

Midfielders
Oriol Romeu, Midfielder-7.5
Arguably the man of the match, Romeu caused his counterparts plenty of problems. He won the ball in dangerous areas on several occasions and should of had a goal of his own. Unfortunately, a smart one-on-one save from Marek Rodák denied him that honour.
James Ward-Prowse, Midfielder- 6
The match in London proved to be a quiet one for Prowse. There were perhaps one or two decent balls in from set pieces, but not much else to speak of.
Moussa Djenepo, Midfielder- 6.5
Since joining in the summer, the Malian winger has impressed in the early going. Although the performance didn’t quite live up to the heroics of the previous fixture, he still showed flashes of his quality.
Sofiane Boufal, Midfielder- 6.5
After helping to change the game against Brighton, Boufal again showed glimpses of his talent in the capital. While the first half was entirely forgettable for the Moroccan, the second proved to be much better. In one enjoyable instance the international star took the ball on the wing, before effortlessly approaching the box. With two defenders having backed off, Boufal fired a shot just wide.
