Danso sending off hands initiative back to United

Kevin Danso had put in a good showing on his home debut for Saints and had shown the St Mary’s faithful some of his key attributes during his time on the pitch.

However, he would make his way back to the Saints changing room 20 minutes earlier than his teammates after receiving a red card for two bookable offences.

He was shown a yellow card in the first-half for a trip on Andreas Pereira and produced a moment of madness for his second.

As Scott McTominay looked to push the ball wide down the left, Danso flew into a robust challenge that was also mistimed; meaning Mike Dean was given no choice but to give him a second booking.

At only 20, it’s moments like this that will help the Augsburg loanee to develop into a better defender over time. His poor decision making here meant a dominant spell for United at the end of the game and could have led to an eventual loss on another day.
