Forwards and Substitutes

Danny Ings – 6.75
Ings, just does not stop working. His work rate is amazing and incredible to watch. He only had two shots in the match but it really is about everything else he does. He is the perfect striker for Hasenhuttl’s system just may not be as quick as he likes to believe. The partnership between him and Adams is still growing and eventually I believe they will both start reaping the rewards of this system

Che Adams – 6.0
The newcomer has all the makings of a solid Premier League striker he just needs to settle down. He had a good chance to really test David De Gea and possibly even open his goal scoring account but instead he skies it and the keeper does not even have to move.

This is hopefully a case of just trying too hard for the first goal and hopefully that comes soon and after that I suspect he will settle down and we will start to truly see the striker we bought this summer.

Shane Long – 6.0
The Irishman came in around the 60 minute mark for Adams and turned in a typical Shane Long shift. Runnings after long balls and pressing the centre-backs when they were on the ball. With Obafemi out with an injury this is his time to regain his spot as the first striker off the bench. Do not believe he will be starting very often this season.

Stuart Armstrong – 5.75
Stu, came on for Boufal as the second sub of the match, and shortly after he came on, Saints were reduced to ten men and he was forced to just sit back and help secure the point. Would personally like to see Stu get more minutes as I believe he we thrive in this new system.

Maya Yoshida – 5.5
Was brought on for Ings after the red card and did his job to help secure the point. Did not have much on an impact on the match.
